The Johnson Cotroneo Group (JCG) - founded by partners Matthew Johnson and Brian Cotroneo - celebrated its two-year anniversary at Moors & Cabot on July 1st, 2025. In their second year at Moors & Cabot, the Johnson Cotroneo Group (JCG) maintained its rapid growth trajectory, serving both new and existing clients with a holistic approach to financial planning. This performance, surpassing their success in 2024, led to the promotion of both Matthew and Brian to Senior Vice President of Investments.
Brian Cotroneo added, “when we started this practice two years ago, we did so with one purpose in mind: do everything we can to help make our clients successful. That is clearly resonating with the families we serve, who trust us not only with their finances, but more often than not refer friends and family to work
with us.”
"When Matt and Brian joined Moors & Cabot two years ago, their goal was clear," stated Michael Hildreth, President & CEO of Moors & Cabot. "They sought an organization that could champion their financial plan-led business model, offering the resources, support, and back-office strength to free them to do what they do best: focus on guiding clients through complex financial situations and towards achievement of their financial goals. Moors & Cabot proved to be an ideal match. I am incredibly pleased with their achievements over the past two years, and this is just the beginning for them."
The Johnson Cotroneo Group is a planning-centric wealth management practice that specializes in helping high-net-worth families, business owners, special needs families, and corporate executives optimize their financial situations. Both Johnson and Cotroneo share an emphasis on professional development, holding a variety of industry designations such as: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Accredited Estate Planner (AEP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) & Chartered Special Needs Consultant (ChSNC). The two bring a combined 40 years of financial industry experience to their partnership.
